rabbi gamliel

by TANYA JOSELOWSKY

Rabban Gamliel would say: Whoever does not discuss the following three things on Passover, has not fulfilled his obligation: the passover offering, matzah andmaror. The passover offering, which our ancestors ate during the time of the Holy Temple - for what reason did they do so? Shmurah Matzah

by TANYA JOSELOWSKY

"Hi! I'm your friendly, hand-made Shmurah Matzah. The first thing you'll notice about me is that unlike other rnatzahs I'm not a square - I am round (only a Tallit needs four corners) without rough edges and hard-to-get-around comers. I'm nice and friendly. What's more, I'm the real thing, genuine. Shmurah means watched and from the moment the wheat in me was harvested, it was under constant surveillance, never to come in contact with water, chometz or any other harmful elements....

Traditional - Karpas

by Haggadot

Take less than a kezayit (the volume of one olive) of the karpas, dip it into salt-water, and recite the following blessing: בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יי אֱלֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, בּוֹרֵא פְּרִי הָאֲדָמָה Baruch Atah Adonai, Eloheinu melech ha’olam, borei p’ri ha’adamah. Blessed are You, Lord, our God, Ruler of the universe, who creates the fruit of the earth.

Urchatz

Traditional - Urchatz

by Haggadot

Ritually wash hands without reciting the blessing. The need for hand washing before eating vegetables is no longer a ritual requirement, however, it is included here in the traditional Seder.
