US Navy Crewmembers read from the Passover Hagaddah during the Passover Seder dinner in the wardroom aboard USS Nimitz
The Arabian Gulf (Apr. 17, 2003) -- Crewmembers read from the Passover Hagaddah (prayer book) during the Passover Seder dinner in the wardroom aboard USS Nimitz (CVN 68). Passover is a holiday that commemorates the time in history when the Jewish people were freed from slavery in the land of Egypt. Nimitz Carrier Strike Group and Carrier Air Wing Eleven (CVW-11) are deployed conducting missions in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Operation Iraqi Freedom is the multi-national coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.
