The Miracle of the Tablets

Haggadah Section:

When the Jewish people along with many other oppressed diverse community members and slaves arrived at Mount Sinai after fleeing from Egypt they waited at the bottom of the mountain for Moses and his brother Aaron to climb the mountain to receive a message from God. This is when Moses received the tablets from God... Not the Apple tablets we have all come to know.....These were the Ten Commandments. - side note - for Orthodox and observant Jews there are 613 laws passed down interpreted from the Torah as the oral traditions of the Talmud. These laws were given and written by the last prophets in their time, but that's another story.

As Moses was descending Aaron could not look at Moses as he was glowing in holy light. When Moses made his way down the mountain, He saw that the people were worshiping false idols. Astonished and heartbroken Moses broke the tables.

In that moment God showed himself to all of the people that were slaves in Israel.

At the very sight of God, all the people's souls left their bodies.

They estimate that there were over 2 million people in this crowd.

Of course, Hashem brought everyone back to life. He wanted to elevate their souls to the level of the Garden of Eden and would have had to bring their souls up higher, but the people were in too much agony from being torn from their souls.

This is an interesting historical story, over. Over 2 million people saw God, their souls left their bodies and the people asked to have them back.

It is said that is why every Passover table tells a different story. Everyone saw God in their way and passed down that story to their families over 3500 years.

If you're interested in the Story of Moses's Death it is tied to this story, because when Moses broke the tablets, God decreed that Moses was not permitted to enter the Land of Milk and Honey (Israel)
