Symbols on the Seder Plate
The Symbol of the Egg
Reader
The eggs are a symbol of springtime, fertility and the giving of life.
(Pass eggs to anyone who wants them, dip in salt water and eat)
The Symbol of the Hamsah
When we were fleeing from slavery in Egypt, our spiritual leaders found ways to help us stay safe from the negativity and meanness that was going on around us. We use the symbol of the Hamsah tonight to remind us that we can get through hard times and that it is up to us to keep ourselves free from negativity.
