We now raise our second cup of wine. Remembering with gratitude the liberation of our ancestors from Egypt, rejoicing in the fruits of our struggle for freedom, we look now with hope to the celebration of a future redemption, the building of the City of Peace in which all people will rejoice in the service of God, singing together a new song.
Blessing over the wine
Baruch Atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melech ha-olam Borei p-ri ha-ga-fen.
You are Blessed, O God, Ruler of time and space, who brings forth fruit of the vine.
