Maggid
Maggid
The main portion of the Seder is the portion of Maggid. The topics in Maggid range from the events dealing with our enslavement, our departure, and many others in between. A question that came to mind was, why is there such a strong emphasis on the obligation that every person has to re-tell it? Couldn’t we simply sit around the table, relax, lean back in our chairs, and enjoy our current state of freedom?
We have told the stories of Maggid,
year after year,
generation after generation.
When telling the story,
it comes to life.
The story brings life
to the one who is telling the story,
and the one who is listening.
Freedom.
We may have it now,
but it was different then.
When one is free,
one is free to
think
dream
imagine.
