exodus
Exodus is the part of the part of the Torah were all the slaves escaped from Egypt. The Hebrew name Shemot means "names", from the second word of the book which states "these are the names of sons of Israel". The book tells how the Israelites leave slavery in Egypt, through the power of G-d. Led by Moses, they travel to Mt. Sinai, where they receive the 10 Commandments and enter into a pact with G-d to enter the land of Canaan and build the tabernacle, where G-d's presence would live with the Israelites.
