Yachatz – Breaking the Middle Matzah
The leader reads: I will break the middle matzah and save one half of it for dessert. I will hide it, and later, the children will help us find it so we can end our Seder when it is time. I am returning the other half of it to the table to be eaten later.
As I do, I say (hold up the remaining Matzah): “This is the bread of our affliction. Let all who are hungry, come and eat. Let all who need, share the hope of Passover.
