What says the wise one? The wise one asks: What mean the testimonies and the statutes and the judgments which the Lord our G-d hath commanded you? What are the laws to discuss that G-d has given you? How can a G-d give such laws, that all of humankind shall trudge toward toil and barely have enough to keep their souls, and that a small part of them shall take all of what the rest have and waste and squander and live in a sea of pleasure?
\n\n
This is what the villain says. The parasite says: What is your work?-what is your work, why should you not work? A person must work! Work makes life sweet! Work, work, children!
\n\n
For you but not for him. But he commands us to work and besmirch ourselves. Only us. And only he sticks a finger in the cold water and lives from our labor! And when he rises above the community, he is an \"atheist,\" he denies the fundamental truths that all people are born equal, and doesn't believe in human freedom; hence we have nothing to do with him. You should make him uncomfortable as well by quoting. You shall but show your teeth and say, \"Remember, once upon a time we freed ourselves from the slave-houses, from Egypt, and we will surely free ourselves from our current yoke.\"
\n\n
The simple one says. The simple unassuming person asks what is that: What comes between you? What are you arguing about? What are you shouting about? Why can't you talk over the matter amiably? And you shall say to him. You shall answer him By might of hand, that through our cry for help were we freed from Egypt and through our cry for help will we be freed again now.
\n\n
As for he who knows not how to ask, you should prompt him. When someone doesn't know what to ask, you should tell him alone the entire story in brief, the entire story of our past and present servitude, and tell him thus:
\n\n
(Leads into story of Exodus)
\n\n\n",

He scratches the back of his neck. Then he answers.)
\n\n
The reason, my child, is this:
\n\n
For Pharaoh did we toil in Egypt.
\n\n\n\n
Servitors, slaves were we by Pharaoh, and we mashed clay, baked bricked, build towns, and toiled like oxen. And then we had a G-d who took pity on the unfortunate, so that he helped us by freeing us from slavery. Today, however, today G-d sides with the rich, as if they alone had a G-d, as if in order to have a G-d, people must pay in coin. And from where can we, poor workers, take money? Today we can't count on G-d to free us, today we have over us thousands of Pharaohs who torment us, who take our strength and to whom we are sold-our sons and the sons of our sons. We must now remember with love and longing and speak of it both day and night to our children and children's children.
\n\n\n\n
And the more a man tells of the coming forth from Egypt, the more is he to be praised.
\n\n
Speak aloud of Shmuel the manufacturer, aloud of Meir the banker, Zarah the moneylender, Turdus the Rabbi, as these very kind dear people sit together, drink a glass of good wine and also contemplate the exodus from Egypt, the story which, although it is clear and simple. They don't like at all. Does it mean, they say, that slaves create a union and free themselves? What in the world, then, will become of us? No, the clear and simple meaning is no use to us. We must search for another interpretation. We must never let ourselves understand the clear and simple meaning. Upon which Reb Shmuel stands up and says “ The days of your life imply but days. ” Your whole life shall be of the night, by day you shall be mine, my servitors, my slaves, you shall work for me in the factory and besmirch yourselves. Reb Turdus the Rabbi kneels, turns up his eyes to Heaven and says, “ All the days of thy life include the nights as well. ”
\n\n
Work, little fool, toil. Those who are besmirched; if Messiah comes, you'll be happy. You'll have a shining Paradise. But, the sages say this world-a person lives only once on earth and he must profit and learn that he is free- that you should carry all your days the memory of the land of Egypt. You must remember that you have long been freed from servitude and must lead a decent life.
\n",

On Saturday evening, add the Havdalah section separating sanctity of Sabbath from the sanctity of holy day.
\n\n
2. Urhatz –Wash
\n\n
Washing preparation for eating vegetable entree (Karpas). Since the need for such washing was questioned, no blessing is required. It is good to go around to each of the participants, pouring water over the hands from a pitcher into a bowl.
\n\n
3. Karpas — Spring vegetable
\n\n
Any vegetable that is not bitter may be eaten. Common vegetables used are celery, parsley, onion, or potato. Dipped in salt water for purification and seasoning they remind us of the vegetation of spring, or the baby boys cast in the Nile, or the tears shed by the slaves. The blessing said is the usual benediction of thanks before eating any vegetable.
\n\n
4. Yahatz — Divide
\n\n
Break the middle matzah into two parts. Take larger part, wrap it in napkin and save for the conclusion of the meal. Try — but not too hard — to keep it from being stolen by the children because it must be available for the end of the meal.
\n\n
5. Magid — Narrate
\n\n
\n\t
Lift up the plate with the symbols of affliction. The traditional invitation to the stranger to join the seder is offered.
\n\t
The wine cups are refilled.
\n\t
The youngest person at the seder asks the Four Questions.
\n\t
The Response to the Questions. Read portions in unison. Have other portions recited by different individuals at the table.
\n\t
The Four Sons
\n\t
The Ten Plagues. Since our “cup of salvation” cannot be regarded as full when we recall the suffering of the Egyptians, a drop of wine is removed from the cup with the mention of each plague.
\n\t
Dayenu (It Would Have Been Enough). Let all present join in the refrain thanking God for all the miracles he bestowed upon the Israelites.
\n\t
The cup is again lifted in joy, thankful for God’s deliverance, ready to praise Him with the first word of the Psalm of praise (Hallel).
\n\t
Two Psalms of the Hallel.
\n\t
Drink the wine, with the blessing of salvation.
\n
\n\n
6. Rohtza — Wash
\n\n
Ready to eat, the hands are washed before the meal, as is required at any meal. It is similar to the previous hand-washing, but now all wash with the usual benediction as the hands are dried.
\n\n
7. Motzi Matzah — Eating Matzah
\n\n
The first food at the meal is the matzah, the unleavened bread. The usual blessing over bread, Hamotzi, is recited. However, before eating the matzah, a second blessing thanking God for the requirement to eat matzah is recited.
\n\n
8. Maror — Bitter Herbs
\n\n
Small pieces of horseradish are dipped into haroset (a sweet paste symbolic of mortar) to indicate that overemphasis on material things results in bitterness. Before eating it, a blessing thanking God for this requirement is recited. Some people mix ground horseradish with charoset.
\n\n
9. Korekh — Hillel Sandwich
\n\n
In ancient times, the Talmudic scholar Hillel ate the three symbolic foods (lamb, matzah, and bitter herbs) together so that each mouthful contained all three. Thus the symbols of slavery and liberation were intermingled. Now that we do not have the Paschal lamb, we eat just the matzah and horseradish in a “Hillel sandwich.” No special blessing is said, but we do read the words recalling Hillel’s practice.
\n\n
10. Shulhan Orekh — Meal
\n\n
The joyous feasting gives us the feeling of human fellowship in harmony with God.
\n\n
11. Tzafun — Dessert
\n\n
Now the afikomen. Either someone has “stolen” it, or parents can hide the afikoman when it is first put aside (Step 4) and let the children look for it during the meal to win a prize.
\n\n
12. Barekh — Grace After Meals
\n\n
This is the usual “bentschen,” grace after meals, including, of course, thankfulness for the Passover holiday. Fill the cup before this grace and drink the third cup at its conclusion, with the usual “bore p’ri hagafen” blessing.
\n\n
At this point in the seder, we open the door For Elijah, who by tradition is the forerunner of the Messiah, the harbinger of hope.
