"body": "<p><strong><u>Isa 45:18-19</u></strong> <em>For this is what the Lord says --- he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited --- he says: \"I am the Lord and there is no other. I have not spoken in secret, from somewhere in a land of darkness; I have not said to Jacob's descendants, 'Seek me in vain.' I, the Lord, speak the truth; I declare what is right.\"</em> </p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>God completed His creation with the formation of Adam and Eve. He placed them in paradise to live and care for His creation. He made them special, in His image, to be the managers of the earth and He gave them the freedom to choose how they would manage; through the fruit of a life connected to God which is named Life, or through the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil according to their own understanding which is named Death. They chose the later, Death, and separated from God and paradise to make their own creations in the wilderness. In their own wisdom, they covered themselves with leaves from their provision for protection. God, in His wisdom, covered them with animal skins, containers of life, for protection. An animal had to die as a sacrifice but that is what Adam and Eve chose - death.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Adam and Eve were fruitful and they multiplied. Cain followed the ways of his parents and naturally birthed a series of increasingly deadly and prideful generations. Able followed the ways of God and supernaturally birthed a series of generations who called on the Name of the Lord and walked with God until Noah (Rest) found grace and survived death to live in a restored paradise.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Through Noah, the whole earth was repopulated but one son dishonored his father. That son fathered the generations that struck out into the wilderness and built Babylon, drew all the inhabitants of the earth to it, and through pride, started building a tower to lift men up equal to God and make a name in heaven for themselves. The Creator disrupted their plan by confusing their speech. This language barrier divided mankind into the nations of the earth.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>God then took one man out of Babylon and made him a friend of God to eventually reconcile the scattered nations back to God. Abraham's descendants through Isaac and Jacob, the nation Israel, would be God's chosen people to be that vehicle of reconciliation for the nations.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li><u><strong>Gen 15:12-21</strong></u> <em>As the sun was setting, Abram fell into a deep sleep and a thick a dreadful darkness came over him. Then the Lord said to him, \"Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and they will be enslaved and mistreated four hundred years. But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterwards they will come out with great possessions. You, however, will go to your fathers in peace and be buried at a good old age. In the forth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.\" When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, a smoking firepot with a blazing torch appeared and passed between the pieces. On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram and said, \"To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates</em> --\"</li>\n</ul>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>God is defining the place where He will establish His tower - His Name - His sovereignty. This is where He will draw all nations to come and humble themselves and be reconciled back to Him as managers in His kingdom - His creation.Then the confusion that divides the peoples of the earth can be removed and paradise can be restored.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p>ALL: Jehovah, Creator and Father of mankind, sets His people in place as planned and delivers them just as He had promised Abraham. Pharaoh, with all his power, was unable to prevent it. Let us remember and never forget this memorial to our God's sovereignty and power.</p>\n\n\n",

"body": "<p><strong> <em>Light the candles</em> </strong></p>\n\n<p>Blessed are you, eternal Father our God, king of the universe, who has sanctified us through your word and your faithfulness to it, and instructed us to enlighten ourselves and remember the Passover. We light these symbolic holiday candles to honor You and to humbly remember. Amen.</p>\n\n<p><strong> <em>Fill the first cup of the feast</em> </strong></p>\n\n<p>We drink one cup of wine in honor of each of the four Passover promises of God in Exodus 6:6. We begin the Seder with the first promise. <em>\"I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians\". </em> <strong>Freedom.</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Sanctification means purification and freedom from sin. Sin was knocking at Cain's door, Cain let sin into the world, and sin manifested death.</li>\n\t<li>The world has been in bondage to sin and death ever since. God, however, has brought forth a new nation through Abraham and He put that nation into the world to show forth His willingness and His ability to purify man from the pollution of sin and liberate man from enslavement to death.</li>\n\t<li>Thank you Lord. our Father and our king, for your promise to sanctify us, your people.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong> <em>Lift the first cup</em> </strong></p>\n\n<p>Blessed are you, eternal Father our God, king of the universe. We give thanks to you for the preservation of our spirit through every hardship and brutality, through both defeat and victory. We give thanks for the exodus from Egypt which became the great symbol of freedom. We give thanks for the divine inspiration that taught us to live by your Word. We give thanks for your Torah that proclaims dignity for man, and we give thanks for your grace and power by which we are sanctified in your Name.</p>\n\n<p>Amen. <strong> <em>Drink the first cup</em> </strong></p>\n",

"body": "<p>This symbolic washing represents the removal of common dirt so that you can now see yourself as uncommonly clean; holy. This prepares us for an encounter with the our holy God.</p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Legend tells us that there was a well that followed Miriam, Moses' sister, through the desert that sustained the Jews in the wilderness.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>It is said that this \"water of life\" was a source of strength and renewal to all who drew from it.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>One drink from it would alert the heart, mind and soul and make the meaning of Torah clear and alive.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Jeremiah the prophet proclaims that Jehovah is this well of living water. (Jer 2:13)</li>\n</ul>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Jesus tells the woman at the well that he can give her this living water. (John 4:10)</li>\n</ul>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>At his last Seder, Jesus, knowing he himself has been made holy, symbolizes the power of living water to purify us and make our walk through life holy too by washing his disciples feet. (John 13:3-5)</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p>The Aramaic root word for Urchatz means \"trusting\". Trust is also the root of any good relationship. We celebrate our trust in the Lord's willingness to purify and relate to his people by sprinkling our neighbor's hands, for it is not by our own power that we are cleaned.</p>\n\n<p>Rev 7:17 For the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd and he will guide them to the springs of the waters of life; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.</p>\n\n<p> <em><strong>pass the bowl and pitcher around and sprinkle each others hands</strong></em> </p>\n",

"body": "<p>We dip greens in saltwater twice tonight to recognize that life is a cycle of times of suffering and times of joy.</p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Saltwater symbolizes the tears of slaves poured out because of their heavy burdens and harsh treatment.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>It also symbolizes the desolation and depressing loneliness of the winter season.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Greens symbolize the release from slavery and the elation that accompanies freedom.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>They also symbolize the hopeful expectation of good that comes with the rebirth of life in the spring season.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong> <em>soak the greens in saltwater and eat</em> </strong></p>\n\n<p>Suffering, like saltwater, is bitter. Too much saltwater and the taste of the greens is ruined. A little saltwater, however, sweetens the taste of the greens of life. With the first dip, we soak the greens to taste the bitterness of betrayal that comes from purposeless discipline, oppression, or wickedness. With the second dip, we limit the exposure of the greens to the saltwater to taste the enhancement of the flavor of the greens of life that comes from purposeful corrective discipline.</p>\n\n<p>Rebirth, like the greens, is joyous, for as the fresh beautiful greens are reborn in the spring from the deadened bleak soil of winter, so are we reborn when freedom is restored to mankind.</p>\n\n<p>ALL: Blessed are you, eternal Lord our God, king of the universe, creator of the fruit of the earth and father to all mankind. For you do not give us the spirit of the first dip. Just the power, the love and the self discipline that comes from the second dip. Amen.</p>\n\n<p> <em><strong>lightly dip and eat the greens</strong></em> </p>\n",

"body": "<p>This invitation to the hungry and needy raises the question, What is the difference between them?</p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Hunger is defined as an urgent physical need of the body for food, or as a strong psychological desire or craving of the spirit for something.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p>-</p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Need is defined as a lack of means for the physical subsistence or the psychological well being of an organism.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p>-</p>\n\n<p>Mankind is hungry for freedom and needs it as the body needs food. Without freedom, control over desires is lost and happiness is overcome by depression. Mankind is also needy for the kind of freedom that satisfies the soul. People make many choices in pursuit of provision, security and happiness but poor choices fail to satisfy.</p>\n\n<p>The Seder is a lesson on freedom. Everyone is hungry for freedom and is dependent on others to give freedom to them. Those who become aware that they lack the wisdom to consistently make good choices are needy. They need help to make choices that won't disappoint or add sorrow to their souls.</p>\n\n<p>Good news for the hungry and the needy for freedom is available at the Seder table through the God of Israel and the retelling of the Passover exodus. Now we fill the second cup for the second Passover promise. <strong> <em>\"I will free you from being slaves to them\"</em> </strong>.</p>\n",

We eat only matzah this night to remember their haste to escape bondage.</p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong> <em><u>On all other nights we eat all kinds of herbs, but on this night we eat only bitter herbs?</u></em> </strong></p>\n\n<p> We eat bitter herbs to remind us that bondage is a source of bitterness that makes life harsh as it was with our forefathers.</p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong> <em><u>On all other nights we do not dip even once, but on this night we dip twice?</u></em> </strong></p>\n\n<p> First we dip into the tears of sorrow from bondage with the greens of life to remind us of the hopes and joys of freedom. Then we dip into the bitter memory of service in bondage with the fruit of new life to remind us of the hope of rewarding service with purpose in the presence of God.</p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong> <em><u>On all other nights we eat sitting or reclining, but on this night we recline?</u></em> </strong></p>\n\n<p> Our ancestors could not recline at the original Passover in Egypt but, through the grace and power of a loving God, they were then redeemed and delivered from bondage. We recline at ease to remind ourselves to relax and remember that freedom is established through loving kindness and the hand of God.</p>\n\n\n",

"body": "<p>After the Hebrews won the Promised Land and divided the territories among the tribes, Joshua memorialized the people's covenant with God by setting out a stone for a memorial (the rock of salvation) and by recounting the history of the people Israel. <strong><u>Josh 24:2-4</u></strong> <em>Joshua said to all the people, \"This is what the Lord, the God of Israel says, 'Long ago your forefathers, including Terah the father of Abraham and Nahor, lived beyond the River and worshiped other gods. But I took your father Abraham from the land beyond the River and led him throughout Canaan and gave him many descendants. I gave him Isaac, and to Isaac I gave Jacob and Esau. I assigned the hill country of Seir to Esau, but Jacob and his sons went down to Egypt'.\"</em> </p>\n\n<p>Jacob had many sons but his favorite son was Joseph. When the sons saw that their father loved Joseph the most, they hated Joseph. Joseph also had dreams of his brothers bowing down to him so they hated Joseph all the more. One day Jacob sent Joseph out to check on his brothers. His brothers stripped Joseph of the special robe his father made for him and sold him into slavery.</p>\n\n<p>In Egypt, Joseph prospered as a slave to one of Pharaoh's officials, but he was once again betrayed and was thrown into deeper bondage.</p>\n\n<p>Later, Pharaoh became offended with two of his officials so he threw them in prison with Joseph. Both officials had dreams which Joseph was able to interpret for them. One official was forgiven by Pharaoh and restored to his position and the other official was not forgiven but hanged to death, both just as Joseph had interpreted from their dreams.</p>\n\n<p>Then Pharaoh had a dream that bothered him so Joseph was called up from prison to interpret it for Pharaoh. As a result, Joseph was appointed Prime Minister of Egypt under Pharaoh.</p>\n\n<p>During a great famine Joseph's brothers came to Egypt to buy food. Joseph was the official in charge of food but his brothers did not recognize him. Joseph recognized them though. He gave them food but he also set them up to be charged as spies. He held one of them in prison until they brought their youngest brother Benjamin to Egypt.</p>\n\n<p>Jacob would not allow Benjamin to be taken to Egypt. Judah vowed to protect Benjamin and return him to his father alive. Jacob reluctantly surrendered to Judah and allowed him to take Benjamin to Egypt.</p>\n\n<p>Joseph again gave his brothers food but he set Benjamin up to be charged with stealing. Judah honored his vow to his father and offered to trade his life for Benjamin's.</p>\n\n<p>Joseph then revealed his identity to his brothers. He saved them from the famine and he forgave them for selling him into slavery. He brought them all, along with their families and their father Jacob, to live with him in Egypt.</p>\n",

"body": "<p>The Hebrews lived fruitfully and multiplied until their came a Pharaoh that feared them. To control the Hebrews, Pharaoh declared them slaves and set taskmasters over them.</p>\n\n<p>The more the taskmasters oppressed and made bitter their lives, the more the Hebrews multiplied in the land. Then Pharaoh ordered the firstborn Hebrew males thrown into the river.</p>\n\n<p>To save her baby, one mother put her son afloat on the river in a basket. He was found by Pharaoh's daughter and was raised in the palace. His name was Moses.</p>\n\n<p>For 40 years Moses was raised as a prince of Egypt. One day he saw a taskmaster mistreating a Hebrew slave. Moses went to the slave's defense and struck down the taskmaster. He thought that his own people would realize that God was using him to rescue them, but they did not, so Moses fled and became a shepherd in Midian.</p>\n\n<p>After 40 years as a shepherd in Midian, Moses was drawn over to a bush that was on fire but not burning up. God spoke to Moses through the bush, telling him His name\"I AM\" and His plan to deliver the Hebrews as He had promised Abraham He would.</p>\n\n<p>Moses went back to Egypt to deliver God's word to encourage the slaves and warn the Egyptians. <strong><u>Ex 9:13-17</u></strong> <em>Then the Lord said to Moses, \"Get up up early in the morning, confront Pharaoh and say to him, 'This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews says: Let my people go so that they may worship me or this time I will send the full force of my plagues against you and against your officials and your people, so you may know that there is no one like me in all the earth. For by now I could have stretched out my hand and struck you and your people with a plague that would have wiped you off the face of the earth. But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth'.\" </em> But Pharaoh chose to make life harder for the slaves.</p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"I AM\" sent Moses to Pharaoh with plagues to reveal the power of \"I AM\" over the power of Pharaoh and to tell Pharaoh to let His people go. Pharaoh refused.</p>\n",

"body": "<p>First, the Nile River was turned to blood. The fish died and the water was undrinkable. Next, frogs left the river, filled all the houses and died there. Then stinging gnats swarmed around the death in the land. Pharaoh promised to let God's people go after each plague but He did not do it.</p>\n\n<p>God now made a distinction between His people and Pharaoh's people. The rest of the plagues only fell on Pharaoh's people. Even though Pharaoh investigated and saw that the Hebrews did not suffer from these plagues, he refused to let God's people go. In this way, Egypt lost all the wealth they gained under Joseph.</p>\n\n<p>Now \"I AM\" brings the final plague where He demonstrates His power to , as He said earlier, stretch out His hand and wipe people off the face of the earth. Pharaoh judged the first born of the Hebrews should die to control their population and the Egyptians supported that judgement by executing it. Now that judgment falls on their heads too.</p>\n\n<p>God makes a distinction between Egypt (condemnation) and Israel (mercy and grace) through a sacrifice. Condemnation is fair when the condemned reap what they sow. Mercy is not based on fairness, it is based on loving kindness (grace) and the victim bears the cost of the sin as a sacrifice while the sinner escapes the judgment and fair consequence of their action. Sinful actions harm relationships and only grace can heal them. God's plan is restoration, redemption of the nations, so He chooses to forgive and appoints a Passover sacrifice.</p>\n\n<p>In Exodus 12 \"I AM\" said, <em>\"Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household. All the people of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight. Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and the tops of the door frames of the houses where they eat the lambs. That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire, along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast. It is My Passover. On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every first born , both men and animals, and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are and when I see the blood, I will pass over you.\"</em> </p>\n\n<p>The lamb committed no sin itself but was sacrificed as a symbol that \"I AM\", the victim of the sin of the nations, is willing to graciously forgive the sin against Him and forgo justice in order to restore relationship with mankind. The blood on the door is the sign that identifies God's redeemed people of faith who obeyed Moses' instructions.</p>\n\n<p>In Exodus 12 Moses said, <em>\"Obey these instructions as a lasting ordinance for you and your descendants. When you enter the land that the Lord will give you as he promised, observe this ceremony. And when your children ask you, ' What does this ceremony mean to you?', tell them, 'It is the Passover sacrifice of \"I AM\" who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when He struck down the Egyptians.\"\" </em> </p>\n\n<p>Having faith enough to recognize the sovereignty of\"I AM\", the creator of the universe and the father of mankind, is the turning point between life and death. To obey His commands is both to fear Him for His power and judgments and to love him for His mercy and loving kindness.</p>\n\n<p>Since the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD there have been no sacrifices of Passover lambs. The shank bone on the Seder plate reminds us of that freedom delivering sacrifice. Also on the plate is an egg, a symbol of new life. It reminds us of the joy experienced when a life is set free.</p>\n\n<p> <em>Lift the second cup</em> </p>\n\n<p>Let us remember and never forget, slaves we were to Pharaoh in Egypt. But the Lord our God brought us forth from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. We therefore thank, praise, extol, honor, bless, glorify, exalt and revere Him who has wrought all these wonders for our ancestors and for us. Let us remember and never forget that He brought us forth from bondage to freedom, from sorrow to joy, from mourning to festivity, from servitude to freedom and from death to life. Hallelujah! Blessed are You, eternal Lord our God, king of the universe, creator of the fruit of the vine. Amen.</p>\n\n<p><strong><u>Exodus 12:33-36</u></strong></p>\n\n<p> <em>The Egyptians urged the people to hurry and leave the country. \"For otherwise,\" they said, \"we will all die!\" So the people took their dough before the yeast was added and carried it on their shoulders in kneading troughs wrapped in clothing. The Israelites did as Moses instructed and asked the Egyptians for articles of silver and gold and for clothing. The Lord had made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and they gave them what they asked for; so they plundered the Egyptians.</em> </p>\n\n<p>During an earlier famine the Egyptians had given all their possessions to Joseph for bread to live by. Now, again they give all their possessions for their lives but the bread for a freed people to live by is leaving with the bones of Joseph. This bread is the provision for life for those on their way to the promised land, the place where God's plan for the blessing of the nations is promised to Abraham. At the Last Supper, Jesus took this bread, gave thanks, broke it and passed it out to his disciples saying, \"Take and eat; this is my body.\"</p>\n\n<p> <em>Lift a piece of matzah</em> </p>\n\n<p>Blessed are You, our Father, our king, who nourishes the whole world in Your goodness with grace, with kindness and with mercy. You give bread to every creature for Your kindness is everlasting and by Your great goodness we never lacked. May we never lack food forever for Your great name's sake, for Messiah's sake, for You are a nourishing and providing God for all. You are gracious for all and You prepare food for all of the creatures You created. Blessed are You Lord who nourishes all. Thank You, eternal Lord our God, king of the universe who brings forth bread from Your fertile earth. Amen.</p>\n",

"body": "<p>The Korban are the five worship sacrifices of Leviticus chapters 1 to 5. The Passover lamb sacrifice closely resembles the 3rd Korban, the personal peace offering. The purpose of this offering was to bring unity and wholeness to the relationship between the worshiper and the Name who is King. It was a voluntary act of intimate worship.</p>\n\n<p>The personal peace offering was not about the absence of conflict. It was about bringing wellness, completeness and intimacy to a relationship. Our peace with the Almighty Creator leads us to peace with our brothers and sisters.</p>\n\n<p>Let us remember and never forget that we were once slaves but thanks to the offering of the Passover lamb we now have peace with God our Father and our relationships are fulfilled in acts of peace offerings and worship.</p>\n",

Everyone who seeks the Messiah, all who lay hold of him by faith receive a reward from the Eternal Father; forgiveness of sin, a relationship with the Father, and eternal life in the resurrection to come. This last item of food we eat at the Passover is our exceedingly great reward.</p>\n\n\n\n<p>Blessed are You, eternal Lord our God, King of the universe, who brings forth bread from Your fertile earth. "body": "<p> <em>Fill the fourth cup including an extra cup for Elijah (my God is Jehovah)</em> </p>\n\n<p>The extra cup of wine is poured for Elijah the Prophet who, according to tradition, is expected to arrive at Passover proclaiming the Messiah.</p>\n\n<p>Why Elijah?</p>\n\n<p>Of all the biblical prophets, it is Elijah who became the mediator between heaven and earth. A fiery chariot was sent to carry him from earth to heaven, and from heaven he is to return to earth to help prepare mankind for the coming of the Messiah.</p>\n\n<p><strong>MAL 3:1 </strong><strong> <em>\"See, I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple\"</em> </strong></p>\n\n<p><strong>Luke 1:17 <em>\"And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous -- to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.\"</em> </strong></p>\n\n<p>And to the fourth promise, <em>\"I will take you as my own people\", </em> we lift our cups in worship and pray,</p>\n\n<p>Have compassion on us, O Lord, on your people Israel, on your city Jerusalem, and on the tabernacle of your glory Zion. Bring peace and freedom to every people for You, O Lord, are good and beneficial to all. Blessed are You, eternal Lord our God, sovereign in all of the universe, who gives us the fruit of the vine.
