A Student's Dayenu
As students, it often feels as though we are inundated with things to do. Homework, clubs, and social obligations vie for our attention, and it is sometimes difficult to let go and remind ourselves that we are doing enough. Tonight, we take this opportunity to say
Dayenu.
If we attend two clubs a week but not three or four,
Dayenu!
If we join clubs but not their boards,
Dayenu!
If we go to one or two campus events per semester and not all of them,
Dayenu!
If we are there for our friends when they’re hurting but skip lunch with them sometimes,
Dayenu!
If we learn from a class but do not get an A,
Dayenu!
If we write the minimum page count for our essays and no more,
Dayenu!
If we turn in the assignment at 11:55 at night,
Dayenu!
If we get a good night’s sleep but don’t finish our reading,
Dayenu!
If we have tea or coffee in the morning but no real breakfast,
Dayenu!
If we do what we can and no more,
Dayenu!
