My Passover
Sam Solomon
My Passover
It seems no matter who you talk to the answer is the same, Passover means
the time when we sit and think about how our ancestors suffered as
slaves in Egypt. I like passover, don’t get me wrong, but I do think it
is weird how we celebrate. Why do we eat the nicest foods, drink the
finest wines and lounge around like nothing happened? Why do we get to
lounge in our chairs, and act carefree? Why is it that the only luxury
we exclude ourselves of is risen bread? It doesn’t make sense. Why
don’t we eat little food and sit upright to actually remind ourselves of
how slavery treated our ancestors? To some people they can eat their
Passover meal without wondering why we do what we do, but sadly not me, I
have to second guess everything and wonder why we do what we do.
