Maggid
It's now time to get to actually telling the story of how the Jewish people left Egypt. Tradition says that there are four kinds of children to tell the story to - the wise child, the simple child, the wicked child and the child who does not know what to ask. There are, of course, many more than four kinds of children, and none of us is ever only one kind. All of us are sometimes wise, sometimes simple and sometimes wicked. All of us have times when we don't know what to ask. As we tell the story, we will try to do so in a way that speaks to each of these archetypes, in a way that everyone can understand, keeping in mind that there are no wicked questions. Every question has value, and it is better to struggle to find the answers than to refuse to hear the questions.
