촛불 점화

세더는 몸으로 하는 어떤 행동을 하며 정식으로 시작됩니다. 바로 촛불을 켜는 일입니다. 유대인의 전통에서 촛불을 밝히는 것과 사람들에게 축복의 말을 해주는 것은 시간의 전환을 나타내는데, 즉 끝나는 날에서 시작하는 날로의 전환, 평범한 시간에서 성스러운 시간으로의 전환을 나타냅니다. 촛불을 밝히는 것은 유월절 축제의 중요한 부분인데 그 이유는 깜박이는 촛불의 빛이 우리에게 자유의 여린 불꽃을 이 세상에 유지하는 일이 얼마나 중요한지 상기시키기 때문입니다.

우리가 축제의 촛불을 밝히면, 그 촛불이 우리의 유월절 식탁을 밝히듯이, 좋은 생각, 좋은 말, 훌륭한 행동이 우리 시대를 밝힘을 인정합니다.
