Kavanah Introduction
Kavanah : To Align Your Intention
There is a Hebrew word that has no direct English translation—כַּוָּנָה— kavanah .
Many express it as "intention." Some say "focus." The smallest handful, however, use my favorite meaning of kavanah —alignment.
One purpose of the Haggadah for Pesach is to align our words with our action,
the meal with our chag ,
and the chag with the unity that fills the dining room.
My blessing for your Pesach seder is that it be filled with kavanah— true alignment of food, community, prayer, and HaKodesh Baruchu.
