Kadesh -- the first glass of wine
All Jewish celebrations, from holidays to weddings, include wine as a symbol of our joy – not to mention a practical way to increase that joy. The seder starts with wine and then gives us three more opportunities to refill our cup and drink.
Baruch Atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melech ha-olam, borei p’ree hagafen.
Literally: We praise God, Ruler of Everything, who creates the fruit of the vine.
Tonight, instead of praising god, let's exercise some gratitude.
Together: I am grateful for wine because it tastes great and brings people together.

Next, we say a prayer to celebrate special moments.
Baruch Atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melech ha-olam,
she-hechiyanu v’key’manu v’higiyanu lazman hazeh.
Together: I am grateful for being alive, healthy, and present at this happy moment.
Now, think about something special that happened in the past week. Tell someone you haven't talked to yet about it.
