The Four TV Shows
As we tell the story, we think about it from all angles. Our tradition speaks of four different types of television programs that might tell the Passover seder differently. It is our job to make our story accessible to all TV viewers, so we think about how we might best educate each show's cast and crew.
What does the wise investigative journalism show, such as 60 Minutes and Dateline, ask?
The wise program asks " What are the testimonies and laws which God commanded you?"
You must teach these producers the rules of observing the holiday of Passover.
What does the rebellious or wicked show, such as Westworld, ask?
The wicked or skeptical program asks " What does this service mean to you?"
Because Dr. Ford take himself out of the community and misses the point, set him on edge and say to them: “It is because of what God did for me in taking me out of Egypt.” Me, not him.
What does the simple show, such as Dancing with the Stars or The Fashion Police, ask?
The simple program asks, " What is this?"
To Bruno Tonioli and Giuliana Rancic answer plainly: “With a strong hand God took us out of Egypt, where we were slaves.”
What about the show, such as an infomercial, that doesn’t know how to ask a question?
Help this program ask.
Start telling the Shake Weight actors this story:
“It is because of what God did for me in taking me out of Egypt.”
