We're Hiring An Editorial Assistant Intern

Posted by Haggadot is hiring an Editorial Assistant for a part-time, eight-week internship position, starting summer or fall 2021. The Editorial Assistant role is for students or recent graduates who have completed at least two years of college. The Editorial Assistant will streamline the site experience for our community of more than 500,000 annual users. With combined libraries of more than 95,000 pieces of content across our three-site platform, this is an opportunity to better engage our users in downloading content. The Editorial Assistant will work remotely to provide editorial, administrative and content management support for our small, women-led nonprofit. 


About Us: is a project of Custom & Craft Jewish Rituals, a nonprofit design lab using technology, art and media to imagine new formats for engaging with ancient traditions. Founded in 2011, we envision a world where home-based Jewish ritual is accessible, meaningful, and diverse. 


Job Responsibilities

  • Review, edit, proofread and categorize existing library of 95,000+ pieces of content  

  • Work closely with the Director of Operations to establish platform-wide content quality standards and implementation methodologies

  • Assist in training volunteers 

  • Support professional team in administering user interest survey 



  • Completed 2 years or more toward a bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications, journalism or computer science.

  • Excellent writing and editing skills, experience in copyediting and proofreading.

  • Passion for and knowledge of Jewish ritual and holiday traditions.

  • Experience with online publishing, maintaining websites and project management preferred. 

  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multitask and to prioritize daily activities to meet competing deadlines.

  • Interpersonal communication skills for engaging with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Comfort working on both the creative and analytical side of digital content management.

  • Familiarity with Google Drive, web publishing software and

  • The Editorial Assistant intern will receive a stipend of $1600 for this 8-week position and will work approximately 15 hours per week. 

  • Start date flexible
