Intro
Welcome to our Seder. In many traditional Haggadahs the introduction speaks to the "persecution of the Jews in every generation." However with the suffering of so many people and groups of people, this characterization has lost its impact. Yet, you only have to look to the plight of Israel today and the negative reaction of the world towards Israel to see the persecution still exists.
As one reads the Bible or Old Testament, one might get the impression that the Jewish religion began with Adam and Eve or any one of the well known prophets who spoke with G-d. However if you look closely, you will find that the Jewish religion began with Moses and the history of Passover.
Often the events of the Passover such as the plagues and the Miracles are often dismissed as legend, myth or fiction. However, re-examination of the original Biblical texts and recent archeological discoveries have opened the possibilty that these wonderous events may have actually occurred. There now exists hard evidence as well as circumstancial evidence that the Exodus may have happened just as it was originally written. With this in mind let us start our seder.
