Charity
Traditionally, Jews do not carry or spend money on Shabbat. So, before we light our Shabbat/Passover candles, I would like everyone to please put any extra money you have into the Tzedakah Box.
As a side note, “tzedakah” is the Hebrew word that best translates to charity. But what it really means is JUSTICE. Tonight, as we discuss freedom in the ancient world and how that impacts being part of a modern Jewish community, we’ll discuss what freedom means to us and what we can do with our money to help free others. Is this the Jewish definition of justice?
